Moving Insurance - Valuation versus Insurance

When you contract with a company to move your goods from one place to another, you enter into what is called a contract for carriage. Usually, this will take the form of a Household Goods Bill of Lading for interstate shipments. This Bill of Lading will spell out the contract that you are entering into with the carrier.

Along with other vital details, the Bill of Lading will specify the limits of liability that the carrier has to you in the event that loss or damage are experienced during the course of the move.
